James Crossland, one of our Associate Building Surveyors, has been with Concertus since January 2020. During that time, James changed disciplines from architecture to building surveying and helped shape Concertus’ culture and how we work with clients across the East Midlands.
James has vast experience across different sectors, such as retail, education, and quaternary. He draws from his past project experience in every role he has undertaken for Concertus. From Architectural Technician, James became a Chartered Architect and is now an Associate. His experience looking after high-profile estates such as Sheffield United Football Club and those of local government has enabled him to build strong relationships throughout his career.
James leads a team of four, is responsible for coordinating all Building Surveying workstreams and projects in the East Midlands and has worked on multi-million-pound projects while collaborating closely with the team in the East of England.
From school expansions and new build designs to window refurbishments and more, James brings extensive knowledge of architecture to his role. He delivers exceptional results even under time constraints.
Although his past career includes being a policeman and Royal Marines Commando, James prides himself on being ‘easy to do business with’. His solution-driven attitude and strong communication style make him a reliable team member and an effective leader who inspires confidence and brings out the best in those around him.
