Concertus Monthly Round Up – December

December-round-up

As we begin a new year, we are excited to share key updates and milestones from our recent projects, which highlight our commitment to sustainability, education, and community development.

Construction underway on new sports facilities at Biggleswade school
December marked significant progress on the new sports hall at Edward Peake CofE School in Biggleswade. The modern facility will include space for three badminton courts, a full basketball court, and cricket nets. As well as an upper level designed for activities such as dance, aerobics, and yoga.

Our team visited the site to celebrate this milestone and look forward to the positive impact these facilities will have on the school community. Read more here.

Exciting progress at Tibshelf Community School expansion
The new building’s roof is complete, and photovoltaic (PV) panels for sustainable energy will be installed soon. The facia has been fitted for a polished look and protection, while the first-fix air conditioning and ventilation systems are progressing to ensure modern comfort.

Once finished, the project will provide a state-of-the-art, four-classroom block for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Each classroom will be spacious and well-equipped, fostering social inclusion and supporting academic and social growth. Read more here.

Introducing the winner of Young Engineer of the Year 2024 – Joe Neeves
We are delighted to celebrate Joe Neeves, our Intermediate Building Services Engineer, who recently won the prestigious CIBSE East Anglia Level 4 Young Engineer of the Year 2024 award.

Joe discovered his passion for building services through his father, who works in the industry. He attributes his success to the support and guidance of his colleagues and mentors at Concertus, highlighting the importance of collaboration and teamwork. Read more here.

Women in Construction event
Our team thoroughly enjoyed attending the Women in Construction event, joining a room filled with passionate individuals eager to make their mark on the industry.

A learner-led Q&A session provided valuable insights into training and development, helping businesses better understand how to address knowledge gaps for newcomers. The event showcased inspiring role models and reinforced our collective commitment to advancing opportunities for women in construction.

Property Management team achieves IOSH Managing Safely certification
In December, our Property Management team celebrated a significant achievement, with all members successfully completing the IOSH Managing Safely course.

This certification training equips managers and supervisors with essential skills for handling health and safety in their teams, fostering a safer work environment. Congratulations to the team for their hard work and dedication. Read more about our Property Management service here.
