Principal Landscape Architect

To manage all aspects of Landscape design to the required standards within the Architectural Design Studio for Concertus Design and Property Consultants Ltd.
Team leader:
- Lead the Landscape team, supporting the business, team and colleagues to achieve maximum potential
- Manage the team effectively with adherence to commercial performance and resource management via productivity and time methods
- Support the Associates and Directors, linking effectively and proactively with other teams within Concertus
- Work proactively and flexibly to support delivery across the service with commercial and solution focus
- Take ownership for own personal development
- Support the professional development of team members
Customer service:
- Provide an efficient and business-like point of contact
- This includes responding to internal and external enquiries (via face-to-face, telephone, email and virtual meeting platforms e.g. Microsoft Teams)
- Liaise professionally with current and potential clients to Concertus
- Work collaboratively with other professionals within Concertus and also with third party consultants/contractors/suppliers
- Provide an initial point of escalation for issues both internally and externally to support the team, the business and the clients

It’s essential you have:
- Post-graduate degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent
- Have five+ years professional experience as a Landscape Architect
- Chartered member of the Landscape Institute (desirable)
- Good design and drawing skills
- A keen interest in the environment
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals
- An understanding of the relationship between people, buildings and the wider environment
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- CAD proficiency
Business delivery:
- Be the authority for Landscape design matters (Conceptual/Technical/Compliance)
- Pro-actively seek to improve the Landscape studios’ design processes
- Actively contribute to conversations with clients over landscape design matters
- Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule, overseeing and resolving any issues that may arise
- Take full responsibility of allocated project work
- Preparing and managing scheme designs and specifications for the completion of projects
- Prepare and present feasibility reports and high quality design proposals to the client
- Ensure the Landscape teams work meets the required expectations and quality standards
- Cultivate new business clients and retain existing clients
- Work around constraining factors such as planning legislation, building regulations, environmental impact and project budget
- Prepare applications for planning
- Produce BIM compliant working drawings and specifications
- Choose materials to be used and the requirements for the project, based on site and environmental criteria
- React and resolve issues which arise during the pre-design/design construction/post-construction stages of a project
Business strategy:
- Assist with leading the Landscape team strategy for the business
- Develop and deliver a team business plan linked to the Concertus strategic business plan
- To have a sound understanding of the Concertus strategic business plan, providing support accordingly
- Cultivate new business clients and retain existing clients
BIM roles and responsibilities:
- Ensuring Asset Information requirements and/or MIDP requirements set out in the Employers Information Requirements are delivered on a BIM project
- Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
- Overall lead for configuration management and project outputs
- Populate the information exchange format for the information model
- Production of design outputs related to a discipline-specific, package-based or time-based task
- Undertake clash detection process and liaise with design team
- Produce BIM compliant working drawings and specifications
- Direct the production of task information in compliance with standards and methods
- Assure delivery of information exchanges
- Coordinated delivery of all design information
- Enable integration and co-ordination of information within information model
- Manage information development and information approvals
- Confirm Design Deliverables
