New Ipswich Community Centre Project to Empower Youth Through Sports and Mentorship

The steel frame at Murrayside has been completed

We’re thrilled to be on site at Murrayside in Ipswich, progressing with a two-storey community centre project set for completion in May 2025. With the steel frame recently completed, we’re one step closer to opening a vibrant space for local youth, featuring a dance studio, gym, and a fully equipped boxing area. This centre is all about expanding opportunities for young people in the community.

We’re also proud to announce that the Premier League Kicks programme, funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund, will run weekly sessions at the new facility. Aimed at youth aged 8 to 18 who are at risk of anti-social behaviour, youth violence, or from high-need areas, these sessions will focus on sports, mentoring, and personal growth. Ipswich Town FC, along with local boxer Fabio Wardley, will lead the programme, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for young people.

We recently caught up with Ollie Langer, the project lead, for a behind-the-scenes look. This is Ollie’s first leadership role, and with guidance from Sean Jeffries and the wider team, he’s developed valuable skills in technical design, project management, and collaboration with our contractor, SEH French, all to bring this vision to life.

Reflecting on the project, Ollie said, “Murrayside has been an incredible development opportunity. The support from Sean and Concertus has been invaluable, giving me hands-on experience that will benefit future projects. Seeing construction in action is completely different from designing on paper – it deepens your understanding of how each element works together. As Youth Trustee for the Suffolk FA and Co Vice-Chair of the Suffolk FA Youth Council, I’m passionate about creating safe spaces for young people to learn and develop within. This project lets me extend that work to directly benefit the local community, which is truly amazing.”

A big thank you to SEH French, Vertas Group, and our supportive client for helping us build a brighter future for Ipswich’s youth! Keep following for more updates as we bring Murrayside to life.
