Exec Experiences Snowdon: Vertas Group make their way to the top for Cancer Research UK
After launching a new social value initiative in July, the second Exec Experience took place over the weekend. Colleagues are delighted to have raised a staggering £13,308.60 so far.
Hosted by Matthew Self, Managing Director at Concertus Design and Property Consultants, the event saw colleagues come together to trek up Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon in Wales.
The event, which took place on Saturday 7th September, was the second event organised by the Group’s directors to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, the Group’s chosen charity.
Colleagues across Vertas Group took on the 7.5-mile (12km) hike to the top of Snowdon, the highest peak in Eryri and the most popular mountain in the National Park, st. Atr 3,000 feet.
The guided ascent, starting as the sun rose, took roughly five hours to complete, and all 12 members successfully reached the bottom before nightfall.
The event raised a total of £4251.50. Each participant raised a minimum of £100.00; some went the extra mile by raising money through raffles.
Matthew Self, Managing Director at Concertus said: “It’s incredibly inspiring to see everyone coming together to support a great cause. The team spirit helped us through the ascent. I am very proud of the entire team, collectively and individually, for all their efforts.”
After the hike, colleagues enjoyed refreshments as they reflected on the day’s highlights. The event was an opportunity to pause and think about the worthy cause the day was in aid of.
